Hi Sihle! What do you love about being an entrepreneur?

What I love about being an entrepreneur is the fact that I get to create my own opportunities, destiny, develop and sell products and services I love.  Mostly making a difference in the process, I get to stand up for what I believe in. Affect change in people’s thoughts and actions.

What are your biggest challenges at work?

Well … I have a few. There are not enough funds for fashion and distribution and this plays a huge role in the business. Also, at times the availability of fabric can be challenge.

Do you have any favourite quotes to share with us?

I have four quotes that I personally live by:

• “You can have anything you want in life, if you dress for it.”
• “Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them.”
•  “Fashion is the armour to survive the reality of everyday life.”
•  “I like my money right where I can see it , hanging in my closet.”

Where do you see yourself in five years time?

I want and will see my brand being named next to some of the greatest street brands, be it locally or internationally. I want my brand to be the people brand. I’d like to see insane queues where no one wants to be without a Barcoded_a realised design.

What’s your biggest hope for South Africa?

Educations for all that live in South Africa regardless of whatever path you choose to take. I believe when one is educated enough, nothing can stop you from making it.  Let’s invest more in ourselves, in our products and In our own art. We are a very rich country when it comes to entrepreneurship – therefore lets all get educated so we can do better and claim back what’s ours. Knowledge is power and that will never be unfashionable.
