Best Practice for Small Business
The Small Business Handbook launch took place at Nu Metro Cinemas, Hyde Park on Thursday 2 March. Hlengiwe Mkhize, the Honourable Deputy Minister of Telecommunications, gave the keynote address; backed up by some gritty advice from Nokwazi Mzobe, the book’s author and Founder of Matoyana Business Solutions.
There was a lot of women-power in one room during the launch of the Small Business Handbook. Hosted by eloquent MC’s, Anele Mkuzo-Magape and Gugu Nkabinde, with an introduction by Mrs Khululiwe Mabaso CSI Associate Director for Sub-Saharan Africa from sponsor’s P&G and an overview from GIBS Academy’s Marketing and Business MD, Fazlyn Toeffie.
The handbook was written for aspiring business owners. Far from being a typical business publication, it’s a guidance tool covering 17 critical topics related to business – including social media and finance. It can be referenced daily, serving up inspiration and practical advice.
The content of the book was applauded by the DM of Communications, Hlengiwe Mkhize. She said it contained important information for South African entrepreneurs and would assist in breaking down the economic barriers small businesses often struggle with.
Asked about the subject matter of the book, Mzobe says, “Looking back on my adventure as an entrepreneur, I always wished there was a single, accessible source in which to find the answers to my questions or solve problems, or at least point me in the right direction. That’s the inspiration behind The Small Business Handbook.”
