She started at <a href=\"https:\/\/studentbrands.co.za\/\">Student Brands<\/a> as an intern and is now the Operations Director at age 23. Chanelle is full of drive and passion for the youth and committed making opportunities open up for youngsters. Her vision is for Student Brands to move into Africa and be the first youth company to be listed on the JSE. She\u2019s also an author, motivational speaker and a recent graduate in Brand Management from Vega, The School of Brand Leadership. Her company makes school bags to help children with road safely, She describes the product as follows: \u201cEach bag is fitted with a solar panel that charges as the child is walking to school. When they get back home, they can use it as a light to study&#8230; We are offering dignity, safety and access to light.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vanessa Zommi: Founder of Emerald Moringa Tea<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Vanessa.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-553\" src=\"http:\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Vanessa-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Young African Entrepreneurs\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rocketpad.co.za\/matoyana\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Vanessa-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/rocketpad.co.za\/matoyana\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Vanessa-180x180.jpg 180w, https:\/\/rocketpad.co.za\/matoyana\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Vanessa-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rocketpad.co.za\/matoyana\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Vanessa-600x600.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>We heard about Cameroonian, Vanessa Zommi, when she was selected as an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.anzishaprize.org\/fellows\/vanessa-zommi\/\">Anzisha Fellow<\/a> in 2015. Emerald Moringa Tea came about when Vanessa was looking for a natural alternative solution to the diabetes that was threatening her mother\u2019s life. The plant she discovered and turned to tea has been shown to help keep sugar levels in the body down, and as she says, \u201cI knew this was going to work is when I discovered that there is more availability of Moringa in Cameroon than there are areas of abject poverty.\u201d She\u2019s gone on to do a degree in Chemical Engineering and is now doing her Masters, all at the age of 20 years old.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Racheal.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-554\" src=\"http:\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Racheal-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Young African Entrepreneurs \" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rocketpad.co.za\/matoyana\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Racheal-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/rocketpad.co.za\/matoyana\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Racheal-180x180.jpg 180w, https:\/\/rocketpad.co.za\/matoyana\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Racheal-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rocketpad.co.za\/matoyana\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-Racheal-600x600.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Rachel Sibande, Founder of mHub<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rachel Sibande\u2019s been in the news recently as she has been selected to represent Malawi at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mbc.mw\/index.php\/radio-2\/item\/2249-rachel-sibande-madalitso-chidumu-to-represent-malawi-at-global-entrepreneurship-summit-2016-in-usa\">Global Entrepreneurship Summit<\/a> in the USA.\u00a0 She\u2019s won many awards for her work in technology \u2013 including one from Google. She\u2019s the CEO and Founder of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mhub.co.za\/\">mHub<\/a>, Malawi&#8217;s first technology centre, which describes itself as, \u201cAn incubator for technology start-ups with a special focus on building young technology entrepreneurs through training.\u201d Such inspirational work from another one of Africa\u2019s bright young stars.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-555\" src=\"http:\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Young African Entrepreneurs\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rocketpad.co.za\/matoyana\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/rocketpad.co.za\/matoyana\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-1-180x180.jpg 180w, https:\/\/rocketpad.co.za\/matoyana\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Young-African-Entrepreneurs-1-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eseoghene Odiete, Founder of Hesey Designs<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re fans of Google\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.africaconnected.com\/be-inspired\/\">Africa Connected<\/a> initiative and that\u2019s where we discovered young Nigerian, Eseoghene Odiete. With no formal business training she taught herself how to make handbags via the internet and sourced blogs and magazines to feature her products the same way. Eseoghene has also trained over 30 women, giving them the knowledge and inspiration to run similar businesses, for themselves.
